SHIPPING & RETURNS POLICY

Thank you for purchasing artwork from Lucas Smith Art. Every piece is created and packaged with care. The following policy outlines our shipping, delivery, and return procedures.
1. Order Processing
Original artwork is typically prepared for shipment within 6 to 12 business days after payment has been received, unless otherwise noted.
Commissioned artwork and custom orders will be shipped according to the timeline outlined in the Commission Agreement.
Business days do not include weekends or U.S. federal holidays.
2. Shipping Methods
Artwork is professionally packaged to help ensure safe delivery.
Orders may be shipped using reputable carriers, including:
UPS
FedEx
USPS
DHL (for select international orders)
Shipping carriers are selected at the discretion of Lucas Smith Art unless otherwise agreed.
3. Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated during checkout unless free shipping is offered as part of a promotion or stated on the product page.
Any applicable taxes, customs duties, import fees, or brokerage charges are the responsibility of the purchaser unless otherwise required by law.
4. Domestic Shipping
Lucas Smith Art currently ships throughout the United States.
Estimated delivery times are provided by the shipping carrier and are not guaranteed.
5. International Shipping
International shipping may be available for select artwork.
The purchaser is responsible for:
Customs duties
Import taxes
VAT
Brokerage fees
Any additional fees imposed by the destination country
Lucas Smith Art is not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections or international shipping carriers.
6. Tracking Information
When available, tracking information will be emailed after your order has shipped.
Please allow time for tracking updates to appear within the carrier's system.
7. Delivery Delays
Delivery dates are estimates only.
Lucas Smith Art is not responsible for delays resulting from:
Weather
Wildfires
Natural disasters
Customs processing
Carrier delays
Labor disputes
Supply chain disruptions
Government actions
Other events beyond our reasonable control
8. Damaged Shipments
If your artwork arrives damaged:
Notify Lucas Smith Art within five (5) calendar days of delivery.
Retain all original packaging materials.
Do not discard the shipping box.
Email clear photographs of:
The damaged artwork
The front and back of the artwork
The shipping box
Packaging materials
Shipping label
Failure to provide the requested documentation may affect our ability to process a claim with the shipping carrier.
9. Lost Packages
If your shipment appears lost, please contact Lucas Smith Art as soon as possible.
We will work with the shipping carrier to investigate the shipment.
Lost package claims are subject to the carrier's investigation procedures.
10. Returns
Because original artwork is unique, all sales are generally considered final.
Returns may be accepted only if:
The artwork arrives damaged and cannot reasonably be repaired or replaced.
An incorrect item was shipped.
A return is otherwise required by applicable law.
Any approved return must receive prior written authorization from Lucas Smith Art.
Unauthorized returns may be refused.
11. Exchanges
Exchanges are not guaranteed.
If approved, exchange requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to artwork availability.
12. Commissioned Artwork
Due to the custom nature of commissioned artwork:
Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has begun.
Completed commissioned artwork cannot be returned or exchanged unless otherwise required by law or specified in the Commission Agreement.
13. Refused Deliveries
If a shipment is refused without prior authorization, the purchaser may be responsible for:
Original shipping costs
Return shipping charges
Insurance fees
Any carrier-imposed fees
Refunds, if applicable, will be issued only after the artwork has been safely returned and inspected.
14. Incorrect Shipping Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.
Lucas Smith Art is not responsible for delays, losses, or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses.
15. Artwork Care After Delivery
Once artwork has been delivered, purchasers are responsible for its proper care and display.
To help preserve your artwork:
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Maintain stable indoor temperature and humidity.
Do not display artwork in areas with excessive moisture.
Clean gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Do not use household cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials on the artwork.
